About Us

Appalachian Children's Home is a residential treatment facility that serves children from all over Kentucky ages 11-18.  We also provide foster care services for individuals until the age of 21 who are recommitted to the state of Kentucky.  We provide housing, mental health and substance abuse treatment, and case management services.  

Appalachian Children's Home also provides foster care services through Bluegrass Foster Services.  The main office is located in Barbourville, KY; however, we serve various counties including Harlan, Bell, Knox, Clay, Whitley, Laurel, McCreary, Madison, and Fayette counties.  BFS also has an office location in Berea, KY.  

Appalachian Foster Services is also located in Norton, VA.
